International School in the heart of Lausanne

Saint Dominique Savio is an international French Catholic School open to all. Since August 2023, we welcome pupils from the age of 30 months (0P level) up to the age of 8 (5P) from the start of the school year in 2024.

The school's pedagogical project aims to provide an all-round education for pupils, enabling them to acquire solid working methods through a dynamic, experimental and multilingual approach.

The school's exceptional 2,000m² site in the heart of the city offers optimal learning conditions, with spacious, bright classrooms, a learning garden, forest school, playgrounds and sports facilities, and close proximity to cultural attractions.

A day nursery (Les Petits Savio) complete the educational offering for local and international families.

Acquiring fundamental knowledge

Acquiring fundamental knowledge

  • The fundamental knowledge necessary for the intellectual development of the child is gathered in the triptych: reading, writing and counting in French.
    • Reading and writing
    • Counting
  • The timetable is organised in such a way as to place them in the morning where the child's attention is optimal.
  • Teachers are trained to teach these proven methods and adapt them to each child:
    • Reading and writing: Syllabic and Fransya
    • Mathematics: Singapore Method
Training plurilingual pupils

Training plurilingual pupils

  • Awakening to linguistic diversity forms the basis of the pupil's journey in this area. Thus, in a progressive manner, we aim to offer 30% of learning in English via early learning classes.
  • In order to encourage this multilingual learning without hindering the acquisition of fundamental knowledge in French, English is taught through experimentation in the sciences, geography and the arts.
  • Weekly Mandarin classes are offered to all pupils from nursery level upwards.

Becoming knowledgeable inquirers

Becoming knowledgeable inquirers

  • The daily practice of sports, cultural and artistic activities, combining games, discovery and language learning.
  • Raising awareness of respect for the immediate environment (classrooms, playground) and more broadly of nature and environmental issues (creation and organisation of an educational garden within the school).
  • Training in a sense of responsibility: from an early age, children are given a responsibility to contribute to the smooth running of their class and the school. The satisfaction of having fulfilled their mission strengthens their self-esteem and improves the group dynamic.
L’amorevolezza

L’amorevolezza

  • In accordance with its Christian educational project, the school of St. Dominic Savio aims to realise the Salesian ideal contained in the words of Don Bosco: "No trust without affection, without trust no education".
  • For this reason, it is fundamental that the teacher ensures every day, in the trust established with their students, that all the actions he carries out for them are understood and serve to raise them.
  • In this way, the child grows in love with beauty and goodness.
  • De cette manière, l’enfant s’évase et grandit dans l’amour du beau et du bien.
  • They are thus able to freely commit himself to the path that will make them happy.
